Topeka High School grads from the 1920s to the 1960s are quite familiar with "Buck" Weaver and D.L. "Heavy" Erwin – famed educators and coaches who left indelible marks on their students. The two were contemporaries, first as coach and athlete, later as administrator and coach. They were good friends and their names will be forever linked as two of the greatest influences on Topeka sports. |

The Capitol Federal Natatorium consists of an indoor heated, 50-meter Olympic-size pool with a movable bulkhead that can create two 25-yard competition pools. The deep end competition pool is equipped with eight adjustable wedge Spectrum starting blocks, two 1-meter diving boards, a 3-meter diving board, a dedicated timing room, an LED display screen, and grand stand bleachers that can seat approximately 1000 fans. The Natatorium added a four lane warm-up/cool-down pool located to the east of the main pool and a separate crash area to the south. The north end of the building contains the main lobby, a multipurpose room, concession stand, and two locker rooms. |
